Dear Mark,
My Grandmother was an Elizabeth Kagi (Kaegi), at the time of my fathers birth she was living in Basel.
My Dad was born to her out of wed-lock in 1885. She married a Karl Epting in 1889 the year my Dad migrated to the USA.
I have a research list from an American reseacher, one Julius Billeter, who did extensive research in Swiss genealogy in the 1950's. The surname "Kagi" is traced back to the 1580's.
My Dad remains a mystery in that I am still attempting to find "the Father" and how did "we/I" inherit the Surname Wunderlin.
In Rootweb.com, homepages, there is a listing of many births from St Gallen, posted by year.
Had to answer your posting hope there is a relationship
Bill Wunderlin
