I am also looking for a Joseph Kacsur or could be spelled Kacur. The one I am looking for first settled in Shamokin and was I believe to be 18 when he came to this country in 1895. His fathers name was Joseph and mother was a Mary Stefanik, his mother died having her sixth child but there already was a son Andrew, sisters Mary and Veronica these were Joe's brothers and sisters. Then the father Joe married an Anna Haky and had two more children John and Katerina. These people all settled in Johnstown, Pa except for the younger Joe . He would be my greatuncle and I am doing a book and would like to find him. There was a Mrs. Shaffer who was his stepmothers sister living also in Shamokin so I don't know if they were staying with each other or just stayed there for work. We don't know anything about him other than he is in my grandparents obit. We don't know who he married or when he died. It was sometime around or before 1963 because it appears that he died before his bother Andrew who is my grandfather. I sure would like you to sent me an obit of your Joseph to see if they could match. He came as a Hungarian but was really slovak. The town the parents were from was Spiss Lacokova. Thanks Jenny
