Susan,

I nearly jumped for joy when I saw your message to Douglas Morgan! Asahel Justin is my great great grandfather --- and I have been researching my Justin relatives for over 15 years. Reuben Justin, Anna's husband, followed his father's blacksmith trade, and in 1837 he left Canterbury, CT and traveled with his widowed mother, his wife and their nine children along the Erie Canal to Buffalo where he built Buffalo's first forge in 1843. In later years, Reuben became the Justice of the Peace of the Black Rock Court for Erie County. Many of the Justin family are buried in Forest Lawn Cemetery. My husband and I live in northern NY and we drive to Forest Lawn at least once a year to check on the markers. (Unfortunately some are in much better shape than others.)

Please let me know if Douglas sent you a copy of the photo you were asking about -- I also have a copy and would be happy to send it to you. I also have a very faded photocopy of what I THINK was your home many years ago, and I could also send that to you as well if you like.

If there is any way you could snail mail me the abstract for your home, I would gladly pay photocopying costs, postages -- anything. I'd love to see the "tons of information" in the abstract and if you are interested in the relationships, I could explain those too. I can't believe I might have connected with the owners of my Justin family home!
