Hi, my father was Arthur Herbert Jupp, he was born 23/07/1896 so we are related. My dad emigrated to South Africa (circa 1920) and married my mum in 1944, I was born 29/7/47 in what was then Salisbury, Rhodesia.
I met my Uncle Charlie (dad's brother) in 1971, he was a great comic and warm man as was my dad (sorry forgot to mention that my dad passed away peacefully in 1988, I still miss him every day although I am nearly 60)
My dad used to tell very funny stories about life in Maidstone at the start of the last century when things were hard and there wasnm't much money, but by all accounts there was always food on the table and love in the family. Dad also went into sweet making and later in life into soap making ( the two are similar, I'm told).
I'love to hear about your side of the family and I'm sure I will be able to remember a lot more about this special family.
