Jukes of Ontario
There are hundreds of Jukes in this province and across Canada, and many are related to these ancestors. According to the Brandenburg, Prussia Emmigration Records of 1861, 3generations incl: Johann Christian Jucksch, age 61, his son Johann Friedrich, age 32, with wife Louise Kettschlag, 39 and their son Ernst August age 8, (my Grandfather) with 6 other siblings (some Rekin/Jucksch stepchildren) left Grossgandern/Sternberg, Germany to settle in Hanover, Ontario, Canada. The family changed the name to Jukes during WW1 1914-18 as 3 of Ernst's sons were in the Canadian Expeditionary Force. Some brothers settled in Meaford, Ontario. Any connections?
