According to everything I have Deacon Thomas was a founder of Newtowne, Ma.(now Cambridge) having arrived on the Hopewell in 1634.He removed to Hartford, CT, with the Rev. Hooker group in 1636, and owned the lot next to Gov. Wyllys'
where the Charter Oak stood, then removed to Farmington, CT
about 1638, where he was also listed as a founder. There used to be a house with a plaque, "Benjamin Judd" with a
1600s date on the next street east of where his house stood.
His son Thomas bought a large parcel of land known as Mattatuck Plantation, now Waterbury and Naugatuck, from the Indians, and Deacon Thomas owned land there also, but I don't think he ever lived there. Much of this came from Sylvester Judd's "thomas Judd and his descedants", published in1856. I got a reprint from Higginson Book Co.
