Samuel Judd 1673~1728
Samuel was the 3rd son of William. He married Ann Hart in 1710. She died in 1719. He then married widow Abigail Phelps of Westfield in 1725.
Samuel and Ann had one daughter. Her name was Ann and she was born Oct. 1712. She had two husbands, the first was
Ebenezer Moody (married in 1731), the second was David Porter.
Samuel and Abigail also had one daughter. Her name was Sarah, born Sept. 1725.
Deacon Thomas Judd arrived from England in 1633~34 and first settled in Cambridge Mass. In 1636 he traveled with Reverend Hookers congregation to Hartford, Ct. and is named on the founders monument there. His homelot was on the south side of George Wylly's lot, where the Charter Oak was. In 1640~44, Deacon Thomas, Stephen Hart and a few others from Hartford settled in Farmington and were the original settlers of that area. In 1652, Deacon Thomas and six others founded this church, which is still in existence today in Farmington.
