Another thing that makes no sense is this statement
"They state that Thomas Judd's grandfather was a John Judd
who was a British soldier in the Revolutionary War,
If that Thomas Judd was born in NC in 1797 and his Father was that Rowland and he was born in 1725, that would have had his GrandFather being born at the earliest, around 1700...or even before...which would have put the GrandFather in his mid 70's by the time the revolutionary
war started.
To me, that would definately rule out that that Rowland was this Thomas B's father.
What might be possible is that that Rowland is this Thomas B's GrandFather..which would have put him at about 51 when the Revolutionary War began. Even that though seems somewhat Old. This Rowland might even be his Great GrandFather, judging by those dates and you're missing two generations in there somewhere.
Unfortunately, sometimes when people write these things they just don't consider these obvious problems with dates.
