Gertrude and Florence Joynels, et al.

My brother, Paul, and I are attempting to draw up a family history for our children. We are looking for any information that anyone might have with regard to my father's family. His father's parents were Samuel and Elizabeth (Eliza) Joynes who came to the U.S. from England. My father's sibilings were: Samuel, Gertrude, Florence, Alfred, Ernest, Edgar Oliver (my father), Walter, George, Chester, George, Alice and Grace who were twins, and Eliza.

After 5 yrs Uncle Samuel returned to England. Alice married Henry Ibsen and moved to Denmark where she lived until she died. George worked in a bank in Phila.

As a child I visited my Aunt "Gertie" on Fallon Street in Phila. I think she had a daughter who married Malcolm Johnson.

My father married Sara Dell and they lived in McKeesport, PA, where I was born, until they moved to New Llano, LA. My brothers Robert and Paul were born in LA.

I have a picture with a notation on the back which states: "Bud took this from a very old picture taken in England some 55 years ago." and at bottom the date "Oct. 1939 and the name Mrs. Cassar." The note identifies the people in the pictura as "Mother Joynes, Gertie, Ernest, Alfred, Florence"

If any of the above "rings a bell" we would appreciate anything that you may have that will help us in compling our family history.

Ernest Edward Joynes
