Dear Chris, Apologies for the delay in replying. My branch of the Joynes family tree appear to have originated from the Stratford Upon Avon area in the 1740's and nearby areas of Worcestershire. So unfortunately at the moment I have been unable to see a connection with Sheffield. However, I have found some sheffield Joynes records. According to the 1869 Grants of probate & Letters of Administration, there was a Frederick Joynes who died in 1869 : The will of Frederick Joynes, late of Sheffield in the County of York. Deceased who fied 8th August 1868 at Sheffield. Aforesaid was proved at Wakefield by the oath of Sarah Joynes of sheffield, aforesaid widow. I also came across an entry in the 1873 edition for Samuel Joynes. The will of Samuel Joynes, late of Garden Street, sheffield in the County of York. Engineer who died 6th March 1873 at Garden Street was proved at Wakefield by Ann Joynes of Garden Street, Widow. I hope these are helpful to you in your research. Kind regards Ian Joynes
