I have a small cometary on my property with the grave stone of John F Joy 1840-1867 and several graves marked with field stones. One of the unnamed graves has a GAR flag holder. I am interested in finding out more.
From research, I believe that John F is John Fairfield Joy, son of Jacob Joy and Mercy Boston. Jacob is the son of Samuel Joy? Of John's children, I can place Mercy (Joy) Baliss in Ford County Kansas in 1886 and Rubene, unmarried in Chocktaw Nation, Atoka County (Oklahoma?) in 1886. They all appear to be descendant of Thomas Joy of Boston.
