I descend from Tabitha's older brother Richard Ratcliff Jowell. In other words, the East Texas bunch. Actually, all of the family was in East Texas (Rusk & Cherokee, mostly) until Tab & James A. moved to Palo Pinto in about 1855. I believe there was once a trunk of family papers going way way back that passed down to George Ratcliff Jowell & is said to have burned in a house fire in the late 1800s.
