Richard JOELL. Born About 1645 in Bermuda. Died After 1696. Act of the Sheriffe of the General Levie An:Dom 1660: to Richard JOELL for 15 days work at 1s 6d per day--1L 2s 6d. (Memorials of the Bermudas, Vol II, p.136) 1663 Norwood survey lists a Richard Jones as tenent of one share belonging to Perient Trott in Hamilton Tribe (parcel #23) bounding the North Sea just east of Crawle Point. Neighbors (& other tenents of Trott) were William Outerbridge, Michael Burrows, & Samuel Stone (Stowe?). Bermuda Archives: 24 Oct 1688, Richard JOELL, Occupant of land in Pembroke, disposed of by Will of Abraham ADDERLERY of Southampton, mariner (g.v.) RG 1001/3, pg.85 1696: Richard Joel of Pembroke Tribe listed on Association Oath Rolls of British Plantations for Bermuda alias Somer Islands in America. He married Bridget UNKN. Died After 1715. 1714 Will of William Joell names Mrs. Bridget Joell as his neighbor, not as his mother as some researchers speculate. They had the following children: i. Sarah JOELL; Born 1668. Christen 29 Mar 1668 in Devonshire, Bermuda. Her baptism record does not include name of mother. ii. John JOELL; Born 1674. Christen 9 May 1674 in St. John's, Pembroke Parish, Bermuda. Christening records list him as son of Richard & Bridget Joell. iii. Richard JOELL; Born 1677 in Bermuda. Christen 24 Mar 1677 in St. Johns, Pembroke Parish, Bermuda. Christening records list him as son of Richard & Bridget Joell. iv. Hannah JOELL; Born 1681. Christen 9 Oct 1681 in St. John's, Pembroke Parish, Bermuda. Christening record lists her as daughter of Richard & Bridget Joell.
