I'm searching for those with JOST, ZOTTER or any family members in the Burgenland province of Austria, specifically the towns of Windisch-Minihof, Minihof-Liebau, St. Martin an der Raab, Neumarkt an der Raab, Welten, Upper/Lower Oberdrosen, Tauka, Doiber, Jennersdorf, and any other towns in the Jennersdorf district.

Records (like census') often refer to these people as German or as coming from Austria/Hungary.

The Jost's that made it to Wisconsin are Alois "Louis" JOST and wife Anna (maidename also JOST). Alois was the son of Franz JOST and Anna PREININGER. Anna was the daughter of Mathias JOST and Maria BAUER. Louis and Anna settled to Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Their children were:
Alois "Louis" JOST
Emma JOST
Anna JOST
Rudolph JOST
Robert JOST
Joseph JOST
Edward JOST

Anna JOST nee. JOST's niece, Maria Josefa "Mary" JOST, was the daughter of Alois JOST and Josefa ROPPOSCH. Alois and Josefa were from Windisch-Minihof, came to the US, had Mary, then returned to Windisch-Minihof several years later. Maria Josefa "Mary" JOST was born January 13 1905 in Pennsylvania. She made her way to Milwaukee, Wisconsin and married Alois "Louis" ZOTTER.
Their children were:
Joseph ZOTTER (married Hannah, had son named LeRoy)
Louis ZOTTER
John ZOTTER

Family names include: ZOTTER, JOST, BAUER, PREININGER, ROPPOSCH (ROPOSCH, ROPPOSH, ROPOSH), BRAUNSTEIN, KAHR, SZALAY, LIPP, PINT, POGLITSCH.
Family has setteled to: Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Port Huron, Michigan.

I have done extensive research and would like to contact living family members. Please contact me with any questions/comments!
