Touring the Chateau October 23, 1999
On October 23, my husband (his mother was a Joslin born in Indiana), daughter, and I were in Josselin, Brittany, France. After taking many pictures along the Oust River and around town, we joined a tour of the chateau and grounds.Words cannot describe the atmosphere and awe we felt. The four rooms that are open are full of history and the grounds are immaculate.Fall colors added to the scenic beauty. We returned with several books on the town and as many postcards as we could find. The only "downer" of the 16-day trip through parts of France and Germany was the illness of my husband and the medical evacuation that followed 2 extra days in Paris. His diagnosis of small-cell lung cancer gives us anxious days ahead, but the trip and especially the chateau tour gave us memories that will last forever.
