So we've got Brothers Henry and John, along with a sister Elizabeth (mentioned in the book as Aunt Elizabeth). This fits in together, because Henry and John did have a sister Elizabeth, who was b. ca 1597 and m. Francis Neile.
Philippa and Alice must be children of a brother of Henry, John, and Elizabeth.Let's see...we have Torrell b. 28 May 1590 (who's daughter, Theodora, John dedicated one of his books to), Thomas b. ca 1597 and d. 1635 (He did die in Holland though), Edward b. ca 1601-2 and d. 1648 at Smyrma (where??) He also married in the kingdom of Georgia (is that like the former USSR republic of Georgia?), Ed's twin Benjamin who was living in Feb. 1622/23.
As to the age of our Alice, one letter states: "My looking-glass do prevaricate else thy sister is scarce so comely at five and twenty as when a mayde of fifteen she journeyed hither..."I interpreted this to mean she currently is 25, when the letter was written in 1649, and 15 years old when she journeyed to the US in 1642.Hmmm, her age doubled in only half that time. This, making her born ca. 1624/27.
