Earl, looking forward to comparing notes.I found Rufus in the 1820 census (in Frankfort, Herkimer on p. 662).Of course it doesn't say much, just that he is age 45+, has sones 1 age 16-26, 1 age 26-45 and daughters 1 age From various sources, including some people who were speculating, I have that Rufus had the following children. What can you add?
Children of Rufus and Judith Rathbun:
John A. [4 Mar 1795 - 29 Jul 1882] m. Ann Mercy Sweet
Orra [28 Nov 1796 - 6 Jul 1847] m. John Hilts, and also Nathan Briggs
James [abt 1797 - aft 1870] m. Susanna Kingsbury and also Diana Willard
Gardner [24 Feb 1799 - 9 Jun 1878] m. Lydia Ann Sweet
Joanna [no dates] m. Henry Mulholland

Can you confirm or add to this list?According to the 1800-1820 censuses, he had 1 more son born between 1794 and 1800 - was this James? He also would have had 4 daughters and we see only 2 here.
