Chuck,
Thanks for responding to my query.James Colon and Nancy Slay Jordan had a son names James Albert(?) who was born about 1868 in Washington Co., FL.I also have found a James A. Jordan who married L.O.Tharpe in Washington Co. on 2/18/1886.I have not confirmed that this is my James. He would be only about 19 years old when he married, if this is my James.
I have found a Wiley Monroe Jordan who married Alice Porter Harper in Jackson Co. on 26 Dec. 1920.I also have found W.J.Jordan who married Missouri McKay in Jackson Co. on 12 Aug. 1915.
What was Roberta Jordan's maiden name?Perhaps I can look for some information under her maiden name.
James Colon is my brickwall. He and Nancy were married in Washington Co, but the census records indicate that he was born in either North or South Carolina.I have been unable to find either his parents or siblings.
I will see what I can find about Wiley M. and see if I can make any connection. There are quite a few Jordans in Jackson County that descended from the Washington Co. Jordans.I will see if I can talk with some of them.Maybe they know something about their ancestors.
Keep in touch. If you find out anything more, please let me know.I will be glad to share with you, if I'm able to make a connection or find out any further information.
My e-mail address is [email protected].
Keep searching and good luck!!!!Jean
