St. Charles (Kane County, Illinois) Chronicle, Aug. 10, 1933. Obituary. Mrs. Mary Jordan, of South Elgin, mother of Thomas J. Jordan of St. Charles, died at her home Tuesday evening, August 8th.
She was born in Ballynavocran, Wexford county, Ireland, coming to the United States and directly to South Elgin 65 years ago, where she has since resided. She was a member of St. Mary's church, St. Ann's society and St. Regina Court, Catholic Order of Foresters.
She is survived by seven children: Misses Margaret and Nellie Jordan and M.C. Jordan, of South Elgin, Thomas J. Jordan of St. Charles, Mrs. W.C. Klein of Freeport, Mrs. Lawrence Nolan, of Joliet and Mrs. George W. Saunders of Elgin; 18 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, who died 26 years ago, and six children.
Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 9 o'clock from the late home in South Elgin, and at 9:30 from St. Mary's Catholic church. Burial will be in Mt. Hope cemetery. (Posted as a courtesy, not related.)
