Hi Steve,
I think we are distant kin via these Joplings, but I thought I would check with you on a few things first:
I apparently descend from a John Griffin of Amherst Co. VA(d. there 12-20-1815)who married a Martha Joplin/Jopling. From what I can tell, Martha was a dau. of the Thomas Jopling and Hannah Freeman that you mentioned in your genforum posting.

This is a new line to me, so I may well have incomplete information here and there, but what I'm really after is more info regarding the parents of this Thomas Jopling; I have his father's name as Ralph b.c. 1674(?)and d. 1720(?)Henrico Co. VA. No trace of his mother's name yet.

I have found Jopling info on the IGI, etc., but don't know if I can trust it altogether.

If you can advise me regarding the Jopling line of descent or give me any particulars regarding the Freeman line, I would greatly appreciate it.
