Thanks for your message. I sent you an email, but have had no answer yet. I believe that my John Joplin may have been Rev. Harris Joplin's brother. My great grandmother, Ellen Joplin was born 2/20/1859 in Missouri (I have her death certificate that lists John as her father and Catharine Holloway as her mother.) According to Missouri marriage records, Ellen married Thomas L. Morgan on November 02, 1877 in Pettis County, Missouri. And, my grandfather, Oscar Morgan, was born Nov. 4, 1884, the 5th of 6 children.

Since Harris G. reportedly came to Missouri in about 1840, it would make sense that his brother possibly accompanied him about that same time. I am only speculating on this, because I can't find documentation.
