Joos Family History
Hello:
I am a geneaology buff.I have been doing a lot of research over the years on my mother's side. She was a "Joos" and was one of 4 children born in North Dakota.
I have travelled over most of the United States and have visited many of my mother's "cousins" (both 1st, 2nd, etc.) over the years.I have collected many of their "family Joos" pictures since they knew I was interested in the Joos history and since it seemed no one in their immediate families wanted to bother with them.I have both hand written and hsitoric photo albums of almost all of the Joos' named in the various emails on this Forum. The are all black & white, some are on tin, etc.
I am currently planning a trip to Versam, which is where the original 3 brothers and 2 sisters traveled from originally (1 brother having died on the trip over).I believe we are all decedents of those original 4 brave souls and its nice to know we have "family" out there to carry this history on.
If any of you have been over to Versam or the surrounding area, I would love to know if you visited any of the Joos' there. There are currently some original decedents over there and I know that Olive had traveled to see them when she was writing the Joos Family Book.
I had heard once upon a time about the family Bible.Did anyone actually located it?If so, who currently has it?Does anyone know the full family name (as it was not originally spelled JOOS)?
I look forward to connecting with you all further.
