Ton, Thanks for your note about the early Jongewaards. I have some early history, but would like more information. We all got started in Westzaan and Berkhout, correct? Please send what you have. I have an extensive file of all U.S. Jongewaard generations that I will e-mail to you. I was in Iowa last summer working on some of the family genealogy. We have records that are quite complete, and I would be happy to share them with you. Where is Bennekom located? I live in St. Paul, Minnesota and am a university professor in the field of teacher education. Check out my university's web site at: www.hamline.edu. What do/did you do that would have you in Australia? I have a wife who is a teacher, and twin sons who are 24. I also have two brothers and a sister. My parents are still alive, as well. My sister lives in Salzburg, Austria. The rest of us are all in Minnesota. We are descendants of the Jongewaards who emmigrated to Iowa in the 1840's and helped found the cities of Pella and Orange City Iowa. One of our ancestors left Iowa and became a wagonmaster on the Oregon Trail. So we have relatives in the Pacific Northwestregion also. My e-mail address is: [email protected]
I look forward to hearing from you,
Steve
