In looking over your post I noticed that one of the brothers of Newton that you list was named Frances Marion. I have a different Frances Marion Jolley listed in my database. He was born in 1831 in Cobb Co., GA, he died in 1917 in LA. His father was Jesse Jolley born 1805 in NC and died in 1897 in Marshal Co., AL. As Frances Marrion is not a significantly common name, especially together, it would not suprise me a great deal that your Frances Marrion and mine were cousins. If so then my best guess is that my Jesse and your John might have been brothers. My Jesse moved from NC to cobb Co. GA sometime between 1805 and 1825. Sometime after 1840 they moved to Marshal Co. AL. Marshal Co. might be a place for you to do some searching. I do not know what county in NC that Jesse was born in. Hope this might give you a bit to work on.
