Thanks very much. The estate of Richard Jolliff, the soldier, was proved in Essex County, NJ, in 1759,
and administration was granted to his captain. It was interesting to learn that the Nightser family went
to Washington Co., PA. My ancestor James Jolliff's eldest son Richard (1788-1833)'s second son was
Aaron Jolliff, but otherwise the name Aaron doesn't appear. According to later writings, this Jolliff family came
from Virginia, but this could just mean Ohio Co., West Virginia, which is on the border with Washington Co.,
PA. All I know at this point is that Luke Jolliff appears there in 1775, and James Jolliff is mentioned as
being in the Washington Co., PA, militia in 1781, and then married Elizabeth Norris, and lived in her brother's
illegal settlement of Norristown, on the Ohio side of the river, in 1785. He died in Barren Co., KY, in 1821.

There are some clues in your record---maybe they turn up in New Jersey records.
