Good News! I finally found parents of Abner A. Joines, Red Boiling Springs, Macon Co., TN. We were able to visit with Abner's 97 yr. old living granddaughter, Dorchie Joines York, daughter of Rev. James A. Joines, who verified via the family bible, that her grandparents were Joseph and Nancy Spence Joines. She new he was born about 1809 (she assumed either NC or GA) and Nancy as she called her (although I suspect Elizabeth is her name) was born about 1810 in Ireland. Abner was born in 1835 and died 1928 (according to her bible) although court records show a death of 1/12/1929. I'm guessing he may have died around New Year's Eve 1928 and with snow and the way times were, it wasn't recorded until 1/12/1929. The courthouse burned 3 times so no other records are listed.
SO, anyone knowing of info on Joseph or Nancy/Elziabeth, please let me know. I'm suspecting Lincoln Co., TN will prove to be the next clue as per an early census.
