Madisonville Democrat, (Monroe Co. TN) Wednesday, December 21, 1932, Page 2:
“Madisonville Route Two---Mr. Hugh D. Joines passed away after a lingering illness last Sunday night. His loss will be keenly felt by the members of his family and in the neighborhood in which he had lived all of his life. The funeral and burial took place at the Chestua Baptist Church on Tuesday morning at 10 o’clock.
Page 3:
“Hugh D. Joines---Funeral services for Hugh D. Joines, 56, was held at the Chestua Church, Tuesday morning. Mr. Joines death occurred Dec. 18, at his home in Englewood.
Besides his widow, the following children survive: Mrs. Rankin Lee and Misses Alice, Clyde, Ruth, Erskine, Sue, Kate and Fay Joines. The following sisters survive: Mrs. Bob Cochran, Mrs. Will Lee and Mrs. Jess Stalcup.”
