Clara and Eldon,
I have been looking into the story--that's a great story too--and plan to go to MD/DE next week and do some research to see if I can find more about Ezekiel in DE. Apparently, his land may have been listed in Cedar Creek Hundred in Sussex County in what is now Delaware or in Worcester County, MD. Since he was among those who believed he was in DE/PA at the time, any deeds may be there. I believe this may be our NC Ezekiel--it would explain the timing and reason for his moving to our area, wouldn't it? It would also suggest he's part of the VA Eastern Shore Joynes family, moving north to acquire land as that area of MD and DE opened up.
Clara, I would love to see your information on the Joines family in MD/DE. Did they intermarry with the Willeys?
Thanks,
Joyce
