On the 12th of March 1759 Ezekiel Joynes, along with several of his neighbors, was indicted for not paying his taxes in Worcester County, Maryland.

One of Ezekiel's neighbors killed the sherriff when he came to arrest them. Ezekiel was not involved in the murder but his name comes up in the Court documents.
Is this the same Ezekiel Joines that settled in Wilkes County, North Carolina in 1778?
I haven't had time to do the research. Every record available from Worcester County, MD and the surrounding area needs to be checked.
