I believe I could be related to you...My grandmother, Dora Jean Thompson (Dora Jean Britt), is a great or great great granddaughter of Phoebe Carlisle (And John M Johnston). We have traced some of our history back through to a Carlisle castle in England. Also, have found that the original Carlisle family (of our ancestory) settled in SC, and, then moved to Alabama (which would be around John Johnston & Phoebe Carlisle's time), eventually, some of them ending up in Texas, which is where my grandmother's mother (Britt was her last name), my grandmother, my mother (Susan J Thompson), and myself were all born.
My grandmother & her twin brother, Jack, were adopted as infants, so, it has been quite tough at times to find out all that we'd like to about our heritage.
Do you know anymore about this branch of the family tree?
If I can find out any more, I will be MORE than happy to share with you!!
Thank you :)
