Paul Peoples,
Richard Henry Johnston is the son of Wilfred Johnston and Mary Peyton.Virginia Genealogies by Rev. Horace H. Hayden, page 515, show that they had 4 children:
1)Richard Henry m. Louisa Lewis; 2)Catherine m. ParmenusO'Bannon; 3)Susan Fowke m. John Hampton; 4) Dennis.
Parmenas O'Bannon was named guardian of Dennis on Sept 25, 1815. Source: Fauquire County, Virginia Guardian Bonds 1759 - 1871. That indicates that he must have been the youngest. Dennis M.C. Johnston & Drucilla Jane Utterback marriage bond dated Nov. 1827.
Fauquier Families, 1759-1799, page 195 shows a marriage bond dated 8/21/1786 for Wilfred Johnston and Mary Peyton. They actually married on Sept. 25,1786. Hayden shows that Mary Peyton died in 1815. He also on the same line, states that Miss Mary H. Peyton was confirmed Aquia Church, 1796 (A.R.) I have no idea what that means. However, there's some confusion because Wilfred Johnston married Elizabeth Utterback in May 17,1809. I've never been able to verify Mary Peyton's death date.
Wilfred Johnston is the son of *George Johnston, Sr. and Sarah McCarty Johnston.Mary Peyton is the daughter of Henry Peyton and Susanna Fowke.
*George Johnston, Sr. was a very prominent lawyer in Fairfax Co., VA and was in the House of Burgess.Sarah McCarty is the daughter of Dennis McCarty and Sarah Ball McCarty.
You will find lots of information on George Johnston, Sr. in several Virginia books. The William and Mary Quarterly is also a good source.
I descend from Richard Henry Johnston and Lousia Lewis.Washington M. Johnston was the oldest of 14 children:
I descend from the Peyton L. Johnston and Lucy Olive Blackwell. Peyton was the 11th child.
Washington M. Johnston and Mary Ann Curry had 6 children, all of their children were born in Monroe Co., Missouri.
Mary F. Johnston, b. 1857
Dorcas Elizabeth Johnston, b. 1859
Emma S. Johnston, b. 1864
Matilda Susan Johnston b. 1867
Sarah Johnston b. 1872
John Johnston b. 1875.
I hope this helps.
