My great-grandfather Henry Johnston emigrated form Ireland to Philadelphia with a brother, whose name I don't know. They were in the Irish Constabulary, Royalists and, of course, protestant. Henry eventually went to Montreal, married and had my grandfather James Henry and two daughters, Margaret and "Dolly" (real name may be Amelia).
My great-grandfather didn't know what happend to his brother, only that he went to Iowa to live.
Does any of that sound familiar to you? If so, please contact me directly at [email protected].
Thanks,
Jane Johnston
