Herb, I've encountered the name "Arwalker Johns(t)on" before. In my notes, the only reference I can find now is Lyman Chalkley's Chronicles of the Scotch-Irish Settlement in Virginia (3 Vols. Baltimore: Genealogical Publishing Co., 1966--a reprint, it was originally published by someone else). He (or maybe they) are listed as Arwalker Johnson and Erwalker Johnston.I suspect they're the same fella, though.Since these folks--in Augusta Co., VA, were Scotch-Irish, it would make sense for him to have been born in (Northern) Ireland.I haven't seen an Arwalker in the family of William Johnston and Ann Chew.I have seen part of the book online at an Augusta Co. website, possibly on Rootsweb.I may also have seen the name while researching my Johnstons in Kentucky and didn't make any notes--just don't know for sure.Hope this helps a little.
