I did some research on Lyman Johnson, since I too am a descendant. According to the "History of Montcalm County, Michigan" by John W. Dasef, printed in 1916, Lyman Johnson was among the first settlers of Sidney Township. He arrived there on February 14, 1855 with his wife and four children. He had been living in Newton Falls, Trumbull County, OH. Many of his neighbors migrated to Montcalm County for inexpensive virgin land, and they encouraged him to go with them. I believe that his grave is in the South Sidney Cemetery. His daughter, Electa came with her new husband, Elias Peterman. They were still newlyweds when they came to Michigan. They were my gggrandparents.
