Monte;
I found the paper that tells us Rensaleer's (spelled differently everywhere I look)parentage.
It is in the "History of Knox County (Il.)".
it says.Rensaleer Johnson, one of Knox county's earliest settlers was born of New England parentage, Moses and Mary Johnson.Resaleer was born in Penn Aug 10, 1804: removed with his parents to Ohio, where he spent his school-boy days on a farm; came to Knox county while it was in a state of unsubdued nature, settling on the banks of the Spoon river, Truro township, as early as 1836; being then in the full vigor on manhood,he set about hewing for himself and his family a home from the virgin forests; but death found him even here, for he was married in 1827 to Eliza Dilley (note: my line) again in 1840 to E. G. R. Wilkins and he is now a widower; is the father of fifteen children; and now at the age of eighty-four, is enjoying the best of health; is a memeber ofthe Rochester Christian Church.PO Truro.
I have no knowledge of him being related to other Johnson in Ohio. Very possible.
