Eva Pauline 'Polly' Parker, 95, of Kingsport, Sullivan Co
TN, passed away peacefully at 10:15 a.m., Thursday,
January 20, 2011, at Holston Manor, following a period of
declining health.
Born in Wise Co VA, on March 31, 1915, a daughter of the
late John and Mary P. Steele Johnson, she has resided in
this area most of her life.
Mrs. Parker had worked at Borden Mills and was of the
Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by
her husband, George Parker, in 1993; and by four sisters,
Rhea Ward, Velma Mellons, Violet Baxter, and Patsy Caine.
Survivors include two sisters, Virginia Marshall of Wise,
VA, and Ella Mae Collins and husband Clarence, of Kingsport,
TN; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the
staff of Holston Manor and Amedisys Hospice.
Entombment services were conducted at 2 p.m., Sunday,
January 23, 2011, in Oak Hill Mausoleum #1. Brother Earl
Hulse officiated.
The staff of Oak Hill was honored to have served the Parker
Family.
