Nora J. Harris
Nora J. Harris, 101, of Richmond, passed away Saturday, May 30, 2009, in Pattie A. Clay Regional Medical Center.She was born February 12, 1908, in Whitley County, Ky., the daughter of the late Hiram and Amelia Jane Johnson. Mrs. Harris was a member of the Union City Christian Church. She was a retired teacher from the Madison County Schools. Ms. Harris enjoyed gardening and growing flowers.She is survived by: two nephews, Don (Jackie) Johnson of Burlington, Ky., and Charles Sullivan of Kokomo, Ind.; and one great-nephew, Donnie McBride of Richmond, Ky.Mrs. Harris was preceded in death by: one brother, Edwin; and three sisters, Bertha, Myrtle and Laura.Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 3, 2009, at Tributes – Turpin Funeral Home with the Rev. Ron Frohardt officiating.Burial will follow in Madison County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home.Pallbearers will be Bob Mollock, Danny McBride, Edgar McBride, Harry McBride, and Darrel Webb. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Sullivan, James William Harris, Walker Wall and Wayne Webb.
