Hi - I have some relation here, and you might see some of the other surnames of my relatives from Schleswig-Holstein. Katharina Jess was married to Wulf F. Krabbenhoft. Her sister was Sophia Jess, married to Henning H. Johnk. Katharina and Wulf had a daughter named Katherine Eliabeth, who married Christian Poehls. Christian Poehls was from Schleswig-Holstein also. They had a son Ernest while they were in Davenport, Iowa (along with other children). In 1883 they moved to Sabin, MN and homesteaded there. Ernest married Mary Mikkelsen, daughter of Jens and Sophia (Wright) Mikkelsen - both from Schleswig-Holstein. Ernest and Mary had a daughter Vivian Viola Poehls, who is my grandmother. I am very interested in finding more information about the Poehls, Mikkelsens, Krabbenhofts, Wrights, Jesses and now the Johnks - as we all seem to tie together!
