hello Joern, I just read your message about the Johannsen lineage. My grandfather Peter Hinrich Johannsen was from the Schleswig-holstein area. He was born Oct. 27, 1862. he came to the United States in 1883 or 1985. I am not sure. He married my grandmother in Orland, Illinois. They later came to Kansas. I am looking for any relative or information I can find on him. I do not know who his parents were or if he had brothers and sisters. I have a German miletary document that said he was from Delsfer Noviwerishma, Germany.. I do not know where that is. Can you be of any help to me? You can e-mail me direct if you want to.
