Hello everyone, I am new and desperately trying to find my Martin Johannsen who left Norway and made his home in Australia and changed his name to JOHNSON, I don't know alot about him, except he was here in 1887 to marry Lucy Tomlinson in Mudgee NSW on 24th June 1887 and they had a big family of which my grandfather was one. on the wedding certificate it gives his parents as Jens Johansen and Maria (looks like Maria anyway Jorgenson or Jorgensen) occupation Farmer for Jens....... that is all I know about my Martin, how he got here we don't know, to date we have found no shipping records, we can't find an oath of alliagance to Australia either, his death certificate was filled in by hospital staff so next to no information on that, infact the weddding certificate gives the most (as above) If anyone can help me find my Martin I would be so grateful or at least put me on the right track..... many thanks from aussie....anne
