I am searching for information on the Johannsen's from Slesvig-Holstein (Danish spelling?) or Schleswig-Holstein (German Spelling). My grandfather (Paul Ludwig Johannsen) was born June 1910 in Peoria, IL and his father was John Frederick Johannsen (or Frederick). John worked as an exports manager for LeTourneau Construction Company and also lived in Portland and California for a time.John may also have had a brother or uncle that still remained in Denmark/Germany and was a wagon maker.
