I am doing research on my Jobes family. I was born in Rochester, NY. My father, Charles Oliver Jobes, was also born in Rochester. My grandfather, Raymond Dempster Jobes, was born in Mendon, NY. My great grandfather, Reuben Charles Jobes was born in Lima, NY. His father, John Dempster Jobes was born in Livonia, NY. After much research, I found a death certificate for John, and on it John's father is listed as Samuel Jobes. On the death certificate John's mother is listed as Aurilla Jobes. While on a research trip this summer, I located Aurilla's headstone in the Honeoye Falls, NY, cemetery. Samuel was nowhere to be found! Is there anyone out there that might be able to point me in the direction that I should go next to try to find Samuel? Aurilla died February 21,1851. Samuel is from somewhere in New Jersey. If there is anyone out there that may be connected to this line, I'd love to hear from you!!
Some other names in my tree are Reeves, Yorks, Kinear, Wilkinson, Gebo, Scott, Ford, Darrohn, Hook, Moss, Potter, and Hibbard.
