I have a J A Jobes listed as a probate judge abt 1870 in Darke County, Ohio--perhaps this is yours in his later yers. Good place to look, probably info available since he was a judge. My Jobes relative is a paternal g-grandmother Fannie, of WV, who died of Typhoid soon ofter Grandma's birth. Can find little about her family, but still diggin'! Good Luck.
