I know next to nothing about my Great-Grandmother's family and would like to know more. Here name was Edith Elmira Jochim/Joachim and she lived from 1891-1925 (she died in child birth). I don't know what her parents name's were. My grandmother (her daughter) was born in Alberta, Canada and they lived for many years in the Upper Peninsula on Michigan.
The one story that I have is from my grandmother. She says that because she had blond hair and blue eyes her mother's "rich Swedish relatives in Minnesota" wanted her to live with them!
If any Joachims from MN could respond to this post, I would like to learn not only the history of my family but the history of the Swedish Joachims in general!
