My Joseph was born 4 MAR 1829 in Wittenburg, and died 2 AUG 1896 in Elgin, Illinois. He married Catharine Schmeltzle in 1849. They had 12 children, 4 of whom survived past infancy: Emma, Albert, Charles, and Nettie.
