Alexander Jiles - born abt 1844 - Alsace to Wisconsin

I am looking for information on the parents and siblings of Alexander Jiles, who was in the 1870 census of Martell, Pierce Co., Wisconsin. (he and his wife and children are on page 1). He was listed as age 25 born in Germany. Family tradition says that he was born in Alsace, France. Alexander Jiles (listed as "Alexander Jaile" in that 1870 census) married Catherine Horrigan around 1861 or 1862. Catherine was listed as age 27 born in Ireland, but family tradition says that she was born on a "Mississippi Flat-boat", perhaps when her parents were emigrating to the U.S., going up the Mississippi-Missouri river to where they settled (likely Ohio, since her younger sister Hannah was born there). Alexander and Catherine had 6 children: Julia, Frederick, Joseph F., Catherine, Mary, and Ady, all born in the 1860's and 1870's. Alexander Jiles died before 1880. Catherine died in 1907 in Wisconsin. Hannah "Hargen", also listed in that 1870 census, was Catherine's younger sister. I would be interested in any other information on this Jiles family. I also don't know when Alexander emigrated to the U.S., and cannot find him in any census other than 1870. His descendants used the surname "Jiles".
