Do you have any evidence that Jacob was Jewish, or are you just guessing? During the time that he lived, most Jewish immigrants from Germany settled in urban areas. The census shows that he was a farmer, not a line of work one would expect from a Jew at that time. Try ot obtain his death certificate. If he was not buried in a Jewish cemetery, it is reasonable to assume he was not Jewish.
