Aaron (?) Rosenfeld is probably a misidentification of Morris (Mosche) Rosenfeld who moved from Berdicheff "the Jerusalem of the Volhynia" to Lodz "the second city of the Haskalah" where he owned a textile factory. Performances of Yiddisch theatre in his textile factory echoed the Haskalah tradition (by then officially over). His father was called "Adel" (actual first name Julian) Rosenfeld because he was considered chief maskil of the Haskalah and possessed a scroll issued by the rabbis and called a "Letter of Status" which traced his descent from the exilarchs or "rosh-hagolim" and demonstrated that he was the senior male descendant of rosh-hagolah: hence their adoption of the name Rosenfeld, which sounded somewhat like rosh-hagolah.
