Trying find my ancestors (Alperovitz ---- Alper)

Alperowitz or Alperovitz is a perversion of the name, Heilbron, that Jews who lived there (in Germany) took with them when they migrated from Germany to eastern Europe. Other perversions of Heilbron are Halperin, Heilbroner, Alper, Alpert.
You can find out where in Eastern Europe people who have any version of this name used to live by getting hold of a book about Jewish surnames in Eastern Europe written by Alexander Baer.
My family is from Vyleika and Kurenetz in Vilna guberniya, Lithuania. There used to be lots and lots of Alperovitches in these two towns. You can see pictures of Vyleika and its Jews - including many Alperovitches - in the Vyleika Yizkor book.
