3 notable jewish men have served as mayors in Ireland.
first william Annyas as Mayar of Youghal ,county Cork and
robert Briscoe and his son Ben were mayors of Dublin.
Under heraldry laws the Briscoe famly established a coat of arms .
JewishIreland.org/genealogy.html is an excellent site for re searching .*****
Although 5500 jews populated Ireland in the 1940's the numbers have declined to 1800.Many moved to London or Israel. Cantor Carl Nelkin has written songs and published them to promote Irish Jewish Heritage.
